Customer: International Medical Specialty Societies
Challenge
A group of medical specialty societies wanted to use web-based measurement with focused education to help physicians change their behavior and deliver evidence-based care in an outpatient setting.
Actions
A multidisciplinary consortium of healthcare providers, medical specialty societies and patient advocacy groups developed an information infrastructure to collect, report, and disseminate information needed to measure and improve the use of evidence-based care delivered in outpatient settings.
Result
Physicians assessed their delivery of care, received immediate feedback that identified areas where improvement was needed and provided the evidence-base and education needed to support improvement. Physicians saw what changes were needed and put them into practice. The award-winning, paperless, assessment and e-learning tool met the American Board of Specialty Societies' requirements for physician maintenance of board certification.
